Bright Futures is a Christian aid and development agency committed to providing a simple, direct and effective means for Australians to contribute to the sustainable alleviation of poverty in the developing world.

We work in partnership with established Christian aid agencies in developing countries to provide vital educational and developmental programs.

Philosophy of Bright Futures

At Bright Futures we believe that by empowering the poor, and by encouraging and advocating for development activities that strengthen their capacity and sense of self-determination, the sustainable relief and eradication of poverty is possible. Bright Futures extends assistance to all people in need and does not discriminate on religious, political, social, cultural, age or gender grounds.

Our Values

• We value people, regardless of age, gender or religious affiliation. We do not discriminate against any person but treat all equally.
• We are committed to the poor. Basic human needs are defined as primary health care, basic education, family planning, nutrition, water and sanitation, and shelter.
• We are a voice for the poor, the disadvantaged and the oppressed. We recognise that we live in an unjust world where the gap between rich and poor, advantaged and disadvantaged, liberated and oppressed continues to widen. Our role is to speak for those who have no voice.
• We are partners and stewards. We achieve our goals through effective partnerships both within Australia and overseas. We are stewards of the responsibility we have to a world in need and of our donor funds.
• We are passionate, responsive and committed. Our passion is to pass on the love of Christ through our words and actions. This moves us to respond with commitment wherever possible to the need of people throughout the world.

Our Vision

To encourage, support and build partnering relationships between self-help community groups in Australia and developing countries whereby they can work together, with the support and assistance of World Relief Australia Inc, to deliver world’s best practice aid and development projects to needy communities based on mutual accountability trust and respect.
