In Pakistan, Bright Futures partners with the Christian Fellowship of Pakistan (CFP). Based at Youngsonabad near Lahore, this program is aimed at improving the health of children and providing opportunities for children to break free of grinding poverty through education, health and clean water projects. In Pakistan nearly one in ten children do not reach their fifth birthday, most dying of vaccine preventable disease. Currently there are 300 children in the school run by CFP at Youngsonabad and a vital medical program is fast developing.
The floods which have devastated large parts of Pakistan in 2010 pose a catastrophic threat to the security and health of the country. Bright Futures partners in Pakistan have been delivering emergency relief supplies to the affected regions.
We are no longer collecting donations for this appeal and flood relief activity will conclude in September 2011. Check back here after that time to see a summary of the achievements of our team over the past year.
