Change is possible!
Education is transformative – it allows children to be full participants in their communities. It changes the lives of the lives of their family and the generations that follow them.
Our dear friend Cecil Barkat from Global Gospel Ministries, Bright Futures’ partner in Pakistan, has reached out with an urgent request.
Over seven hundred people have died and many are still missing.
The wall is critical to the security and safety of children boarding at the school.
Our urgent appeal aims to raise $10,000 in relief to flood victims.
The recent flooding in northern Pakistan has been devastating. Since late June, heavy monsoon rains and cloudbursts have triggered massive floods and landslides. Over seven hundred people have died, and many are still missing, with entire villages swept away. The region faces significant challenges, including damaged infrastructure, disrupted communications, and a high number of displaced people.
The floods in northern Pakistan have created a dangerous situation for waterborne illnesses. Due to the destruction of infrastructure and the contamination of water sources, diseases such as diarrhoea, gastroenteritis, dengue fever, and malaria are on the rise.
In Youngson Abad, storms have also damaged the wall and gate that provides essential security to children who board at the school.
Today, Bright Futures is launching an urgent appeal to raise $10,000 relief to flood victims that will be distributed by our trusted partner, Global Gospel Ministries. The funds will provide emergency food relief, as well as desperately needed medicines for those who have lost everything.
